A good walk is one of the simplest pleasures there is, and Scotland is made for them. These days are built around walks of every size, from an easy loop through the woods to a waterfall, to a coastal path with the sea beside you all the way, to a longer climb with a view at the top that's well worth the effort. Each one comes with the rest of the day worked out around it: somewhere for coffee before you set off, a pub or café for lunch afterwards, and something to see on the drive home.
Every day is planned stop by stop, with the drive between each place and where to leave the car, so all you need to think about is the walk itself. Bring good boots and a waterproof whatever the forecast says, and a flask never goes amiss. Some of the best walks are at their quietest early in the morning, so it's worth setting off in good time. Choose where you're starting from, or the kind of day you're after, and we'll show you where to go.
