  1. Carbost

    Carbost

Carbost is on the south shore of Loch Harport. There's parking for a few cars beside the Old Inn, so come in good time. From the inn's terrace, stroll east along the waterfront for 3 minutes, past the distillery, to the view pointer put up in 2026, which names the Cuillin peaks; then wander back as the light goes.

  2. The Old Inn

    The Old Inn

    A drink

Back at the Old Inn, a whitewashed free house on the shore of Loch Harport, the bar opens every day from noon until late, with several open fires, local ales and Scotch malts, and traditional music every Thursday. Meals are served from noon into the evening, first come, first served, as only guests staying at the inn can book a table. Dogs are welcome in the pub, and the inn has toilets for customers. Whoever is driving should stick to soft drinks.

If it rains

On a wet night skip the stroll and go straight in: the Old Inn's fires are the point of the evening.
