Tennent's Wellpark Brewery – a Tour and Lunch at Drygate
A few hours, from Queen Street station and back.
The route
Tennent's has been brewing at the Wellpark Brewery in Glasgow's East End for generations, and its tour takes you behind the painted walls on Duke Street to see how the city's own lager is made.
Round the corner, Drygate's bar and kitchen looks straight into its brewhouse, with plenty of beers on tap and good comfort food. It's an easy walk from Queen Street station, so nobody has to drive.

Tennent's Story Heritage Centre
An attraction
Book a late-morning tour on Tennent's own website before you go: it takes about an hour and a half, costs from £17 a head at the time of writing, and is for over-18s only. It's a 20-minute walk east from Queen Street station, by George Street and Duke Street, to the visitor centre at 161 Duke Street. Come on foot or by taxi, so nobody has to drive home. Look out for the painted adverts along the brewery wall as you arrive. The tour starts in the Tennent's Story heritage centre, goes behind the scenes in the Wellpark Brewery, where Tennent's says beer has been made since the 1500s, and ends with a taste of the beer. If anyone in your group has mobility needs, book one of the accessible tours instead.
4 min on foot

Queen Street station is 18 minutes' walk back.
If it rains
The tour and lunch are both indoors; on a wet morning take a taxi from Queen Street station instead of walking.
