Mhor Bread in Callander – Breakfast and the Teith
A few hours.
The route
Mhor Bread is the bakery on Callander's Main Street run by the family behind Monachyle Mhor, with sourdough slow-fermented for two days, pies, pastries and cakes baked on the premises, and a little tearoom beside the shop.
After a long, lazy breakfast there, walk it off with a short loop through the Meadows by the River Teith and back up into Ancaster Square.

Callander
An attraction
From Mhor Bread walk down into the Meadows by the River Teith, past the grassy mound of Tom na Chisaig, where Saint Kessog is said to have preached, along to the Red Bridge. Come back up past the war memorial into Ancaster Square and along Main Street to the car. The loop is about a mile and takes about 20 minutes on firm paths and pavements that suit a pushchair. Main Street is lined with shops and cafés to browse.
If it rains
On a wet morning linger longer over breakfast in the tearoom and keep the walk to Main Street's pavements and shops, where Ancaster Square's old church and the war memorial are a few minutes along.
