Welcome

Calgary Bay Co is the small café at Calgary, above the white sand of Calgary Bay in north-west Mull, beside the Art in Nature woodland walk.

Lou and Ben bought it in 2024 and are building it, gradually, into a business that fits around their family: Lou first came to Mull on holidays in the 1990s and moved here in 2002, and Ben left a university career in human geography to make a life on the island. Their two small children are often about.

The café opens Sunday to Thursday, 10.30am to 4pm, and serves lunch from noon to 2pm, with coffee and baking the rest of the day; it is closed on Fridays and Saturdays. The café space also holds Pilates classes, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and visitors are welcome to join one before or after a day exploring; on Sunday mornings the café opens after class. There are tables outside, a short stroll from the beach.

We want to show you the best that Scotland has to offer. The makers and the creatives, the enduring experiences, the evocative tales, the concealed corners. We’d love for you to join us.
