Welcome

Am Birlinn is a family-friendly restaurant at Penmore, near Dervaig in the north-west of Mull, just off the Dervaig to Calgary road at the Croig junction.

It is housed in a contemporary timber building with big windows, set among a mixture of conifers and broadleaf trees beside a little stream, the Allt Torr a' Bhacain, and inside it is light and airy.

The kitchen serves the freshest locally produced food in a warm, relaxed atmosphere; langoustines are among the dishes on the table. Children can pass the time before their meal in the little outdoor play area while their parents have an aperitif. It opens for dinner from 5pm to 9pm from Wednesday to Sunday, and for lunch from noon to 2pm from Friday to Sunday; it is closed on Monday and Tuesday. Calgary Bay and its beach are a few miles further on.
