Spear Sauna, Lost Shore
Spear Sauna stands beside the wave pool at Lost Shore, the surf resort at Newbridge, west of Edinburgh. Park in the resort's own car park, which has blue badge spaces at the main entrance. It opens on Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm, Fridays from 12.15pm to 8.15pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 10.15am to 6.15pm. Public sessions are 30 or 60 minutes, or you can take the main sauna or its horsebox sauna for a private hour; book online, where the prices are. There's a reception, a place to leave your things, a wood-fired sauna with a big window over the cove, and two waterfall buckets outside to cool off under. Ask about ages when you book. Afterwards, Lost Shore's food hub opens every day from 8am, with coffee and its three kitchens, Lost Kitchen, Lost Flock and Civerinos pizza, each keeping its own hours, all looking out on the waves.
If it rains
The sauna is warm in any weather, and the food hub is indoors with views of the wave pool.
