Nethy House is a café with rooms in the middle of Nethy Bridge, in a granite house on the village street, and it makes a warm stop on a day in the Abernethy woods.

A glass cabinet by the counter is stacked with home baking, from tiffin and millionaire's shortbread to cakes and scones, and table service brings breakfast from nine until half past eleven, light lunches and specials until four, and cakes and coffee all day. The coffee comes from the Glen Lyon roastery in Aberfeldy, and there are vegan and gluten-free choices.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome, cyclists get bike parking and a bike wash, and the café is fully accessible, with a ramp to the toilets. Local art, photography and crafts are for sale. There are also five en-suite guest rooms with a shared kitchen. The café opens every day but Wednesday, from 9am to 5pm, and takes table bookings by phone until 10am on the day.

Before you go

Nethy House opens six days a week, 9am to 5pm, and is closed on Wednesdays.

Breakfast runs from 9am to 11.30am and lunch from 11.30am to 4pm. Tables can be booked by phone or text until 10am on the day.
