The day
Edinbane
An afternoon and evening in one village: the potters' workshop and gallery, then dinner from Skye's boats and crofts.

Edinbane Pottery
A shop
The pottery stands among trees at the head of Loch Greshornish, just off the A850. Its potter, Stuart, came to the little island of Pabay off Broadford with his parents in 1949 and founded the pottery with his late father in 1971. In the early 1980s he built the wood-fired and salt-glaze kilns that give the pots their finish. You can watch the potters at work in the workshop, then browse the gallery, where the swirling blues and ambers on the shelves take their lead from Skye's land and sea. From November to Easter it opens Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm, and every day from Easter to October.
About 2 min on foot

Edinbane Lodge
Dinner
Edinbane Lodge is a short walk along the road, a 16th-century hunting lodge restored as a restaurant with rooms in 2018. Chef Calum Montgomery, who grew up in Portree, cooks one tasting menu, A Taste of Skye, from what the island's crofters and fishermen bring in, with hand-dived scallops, creel-caught lobster and Highland Wagyu beef on the sample menu. Dinner is Monday to Friday from 6pm. If you take the wine pairing, agree a driver before you go.
If it rains
The pottery and the Lodge's dining room are both indoors, so rain changes nothing.
