Light until 18:06
Dundee is perfectly placed for days out. The city has been transformed in recent years, with the V&A on the waterfront and the RRS Discovery moored beside it, but step beyond it and Angus and north Fife are right on the doorstep. There are quiet glens to the north, red sandstone cliffs and beaches along the coast, Pictish stones in country kirkyards, and St Andrews just across the Tay.
Each day is planned stop by stop, with the drive between each place, where to eat, and what to book ahead. Some stay in the city and some head out into the hills, but all of them have you back by evening. Choose where you'd like to go, or the kind of day you're after, and we'll show you how to spend it.

Not every day out needs to be a big one. A castle and a café, a walk and lunch, a museum when it rains: one place, somewhere good to eat close by, and the time between worked out.
