Gallery Q

A two-floor gallery on the Nethergate in Dundee, in the Queen's Hotel buildings, with Scottish painting and crafts.

Welcome

Gallery Q is a fine art gallery on the Nethergate, one of Dundee's old main streets, set over two floors of the Queen's Hotel buildings; you can walk in from the street or through the hotel.

It was founded in 1999 as the Queen's Gallery by Joyce McGlone and shows fine art and sculpture, with a framing workshop too.

The gallery sells contemporary work by artists from Scotland and beyond, and it is particularly proud of the Scottish painters it supports, with exhibitions changing through the year. Alongside the paintings on its stone and white walls there is a wide range of crafts, from ceramics and glass to wood, textiles and jewellery, so it is as good for a small present as for a painting. It is a short walk from the Dundee Contemporary Arts centre along the Nethergate. It usually opens from Tuesday to Saturday; check before you go.

Hidden Scotland, the magazine

Scotland, in print.

We want to show you the best that Scotland has to offer. The makers and the creatives, the enduring experiences, the evocative tales, the concealed corners. The roads less travelled that take you to places that matter. The adventures that gather you up and sweep you away. The blend of the wild and the artistic that makes Scotland what it is. We’d love for you to join us.
