Welcome

If you love cheese, The Cheesery on Exchange Street is the shop to find in Dundee.

It's a family-run cheesemonger, here since 2008 and run since 2016 by Steve and Hilary Barney, who opened a second shop in Broughty Ferry in 2019. The counter holds more than 70 cheeses, soft and hard, blue and goat's, from farmhouse Cheddars and Highland cheeses to Gorgonzola Dolce and Brie de Meaux, and there are new ones to taste every week. The team will help you put a cheeseboard together and suggest something to drink with it, and the shelves have everything else you need, from olives, crackers and chutney to cured meats, wine and craft beer, some of it from local makers such as Sarah Gray Chutney, Abernyte Brewery and Dundee Dry Gin. They build cheese towers for weddings and parties too. It's a short walk from the McManus and the waterfront, and it's open Tuesday to Saturday.
