EH9 is a cheerful little coffee bar on the Perth Road in Dundee's West End, and a lovely place to while away an hour.

The name is an Edinburgh postcode: the owner, Fraser, fell for coffee as a barista in the capital and set out to bring a little of its independent coffee scene to Dundee. The idea is simple, speciality coffee, bakes and good people. There's espresso and a changing choice of filter coffee, with beans to take home, and bagels, vegan pastries, brownies and cookies to go with it. The wifi is quick and there are plenty of plugs, so it's a good spot to get some work done. Look out for the billboard on the side of the building, painted by a new artist every six months or so. In 2026 it was named among the best coffee shops in Britain. Dogs are welcome, and it's open every day, with the independent shops of the Perth Road on the doorstep.
