Bruach is a family-owned bar and restaurant at 326 Brook Street, the main street of Broughty Ferry, and it has been one of the busiest places on it since it opened in 2007.

You can spot it by its grey frontage with gold trim and the brightly painted penguin sculpture that stands at the door beside the café tables on the pavement.

Inside it runs from a long, softly lit bar backed by shelves of bottles to red leather booths and corners of velvet sofas and cushions, with a mezzanine above. The kitchen serves brunch from 10am, lunch from noon, and dishes all day until 9pm, cooked fresh, with plenty for those with allergies, and the bar makes cocktails from fresh ingredients late into the evening. It is a good stop after a walk on the beach or round the castle. It opens every day from 10am, until 10.30pm Monday to Thursday, 1am on Friday and Saturday, and midnight on Sunday.
