The Bookhouse is a family-run independent bookshop in Broughty Ferry, with a smart grey shopfront and windows dressed with birch trees and books.

It first opened a couple of miles along the coast in Monifieth and moved to Broughty Ferry in 2020, and it has become a real part of the town's life.

The shelves hold a carefully chosen range for adults and a large, much-loved children's section, and the shop is known for its signed and independent-exclusive editions, often at reduced prices. It runs eight book clubs and hosts author events for local schools and the wider community, and it will order books in, or send them out by post. It is a good place to browse after a walk on the beach, a short walk from the castle and the harbour. It opens six days a week, Monday to Saturday, from 9.30am to 5.30pm.
