The Chlachain Inn – Supper by the Fire and a Saturday Band
A few hours.
The route
The Chlachain Inn has been a Mallaig local since it was built around 1900, and its name is Gaelic for the stone house.
On most Saturday nights there's live music, from solo acoustic acts to cover bands and traditional ceilidh bands. Add a seafood supper by the coal fire and a pint of local ale.

The Chlachain Inn
Supper
The Chlachain Inn is on Davies Brae, just off the middle of Mallaig. Inside it's bright and modern, with wood panelling, big windows and a real coal fire for the cold nights. Come for supper first: the menu changes with the seasons, with seafood landed daily by the local fish merchant, pastas, risottos and meat dishes. Ring 01687 460289 to book a table and to check when the kitchen is serving. Saturday nights bring live music for most of the year, from solo acoustic acts and cover bands to five-piece bands and traditional ceilidh bands; the inn posts who's playing on its Facebook page. The bar has local real ales, malt whiskies and small-batch Scottish gins, with a pool table and a darts board. Over Christmas and New Year, check before going.
