Days out

Days out from Ayr.

Ayr is a lovely place to start a day out on the Ayrshire coast. Robert Burns was born just down the road in Alloway, where his cottage and museum still welcome visitors, and Culzean Castle stands on its clifftop a short drive south. There are long sandy beaches, harbour towns, and the ferry to Arran from Ardrossan for a day on the island.

Each day is worked out stop by stop, with the drive or the train between each place, where to eat, and what to book before you go. Many are easy by train from Glasgow too, if you're staying in the city. Choose a day of castles, coast or Burns, and we'll show you the way.
