Glasgow's Best Restaurants and Bars

Glasgow has become one of the best cities in the UK to eat and drink in, and it's done it without any fuss. These are the places we'd book first.

Updated 22 September 2026. Across Glasgow.

Glasgow has quietly become one of the best cities in the UK to eat and drink in, and it wears it lightly. There's no dress code and very little ceremony, just a lot of good food. Whether it's wood-fired pizza, southeast Asian small plates, a good Sunday roast or a tasting menu with a Michelin star, the city has it, usually within a short walk of wherever you're staying.

We've rounded up our favourite restaurants and bars across Glasgow, from the west end and Finnieston to the Merchant City and the southside. These are the places we'd book first, and most of them are worth booking ahead.

Hidden Scotland, in print.

We want to show you the best that Scotland has to offer. The makers and the creatives, the enduring experiences, the evocative tales, the concealed corners. The roads less travelled that take you to places that matter. The adventures that gather you up and sweep you away. The blend of the wild and the artistic that makes Scotland what it is. We’d love for you to join us.
