The Rum Shack on Pollokshaws Road calls itself Glasgow's original Caribbean bar, canteen and venue, on the south side, behind a dark front with its name in red.

The bar holds more than a hundred rums from all over the world, alongside bespoke and classic cocktails and Caribbean and South American beers, and there is a covered beer garden out the back.

The kitchen cooks Caribbean food every day: jerk chicken with rice and corn on the cob, fritters and loaded fries, with vegan, vegetarian and children's options. The Dancehall is a venue for 220 that hosts live music from reggae to ragtime, as well as stand-up comedy, theatre, artisan markets and community events. On Friday and Saturday nights DJs play soca, dancehall, calypso, afrobeat, disco, hip-hop and roots reggae from nine. Under-18s are welcome until eight. The bar opens at 4pm from Monday to Thursday and at noon from Friday to Sunday, until midnight.

The bar opens Monday to Thursday from 4pm and Friday to Sunday from noon, until midnight.

The kitchen is open daily, last orders 9.30pm. The venue stays open until 1am on Friday and Saturday. Tables booked must be for food. Under-18s are welcome until 8pm.
