BAM is a coffee shop and vintage store on Nithsdale Road on the south side, behind a dark green front lettered ‘coffee and vintage’, and it runs on two ideas: great coffee and great finds.

Twin sisters Elaine and Jen opened it in 2018, and the name stands for Bunty and Margaret, the two women who inspired it: their gran, Margaret, who taught them to bake and the importance of a good cup of tea, and her sister Bunty, their great aunt, the reason they love charity shops and all things vintage.

Upstairs is the café, with speciality coffee, cakes and baking. Downstairs is the vintage: rails of pre-loved clothes, homewares, artworks, 1970s vases and the odd strange treasure, alongside pieces by local makers, artists and small brands, all sustainably sourced and carefully chosen. BAM opens every day except Tuesday, from eleven until five, and sells online too.
