Partick Duck Club

Partick Duck Club takes its name from a real one.

In 1810 a club of Glasgow merchants, bankers, professors and tradesmen began walking out to the village of Partick every Saturday afternoon to eat roast duck with sage and onion stuffing and green peas at the Bun and Yill House, a tavern by the River Kelvin. The owners found the story in John Strang's book of 1855 on Glasgow and its clubs, and on Easter Monday 2017, two hundred and seven years after the first, the new club opened on the corner of Hyndland Street.

It is a bright corner restaurant and bar under a striped awning, cooking all-day comfort food from nine in the morning: breakfast for dinner and dinner for breakfast. Duck runs through the menu, from a twelve-hour duck leg with green peppercorn sauce to hoisin duck buns and duck fat fries, alongside a Partick full breakfast, deep dish pancakes, burgers and a sticky toffee soufflé. It has held an AA rosette every year since 2022. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables. It is closed on Tuesday.

Partick Duck Club serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner all day from 9am, until 8pm Sunday to Thursday and 9pm on Friday and Saturday.

It is closed on Tuesday. Outdoor tables cannot be booked, and dogs are welcome there.
