The Left Bank
A West End fixture on Gibson Street since 2006, now a vinyl listening bar with brunch until four, food until midnight and selectors at the weekend.
The Left Bank has been a West End fixture on Gibson Street since 2006, a few minutes from Kelvinbridge and down the hill from the University, and it has reinvented itself as a vinyl listening bar with a full kitchen.
The room is arranged round the records and a pair of vintage Bose 901 speakers, with a mezzanine and a snug little pod for groups.
Brunch runs until four: eggs mornay, a Lebanese breakfast, the full Banks breakfast and French toast with maple. From four the kitchen turns to small plates, burgers and mains, such as crisp salt and pepper squid or tofu with a bright salad, and the late kitchen keeps cooking until midnight. There are separate vegan and gluten-free menus every day. On Friday and Saturday nights Glasgow selectors and guests play vinyl, free to come in, with monthly residencies through the week. The bar is open from ten in the morning until one at night, and tables can be booked or taken as you find them.

Scotland, in print.
We want to show you the best that Scotland has to offer. The makers and the creatives, the enduring experiences, the evocative tales, the concealed corners. The roads less travelled that take you to places that matter. The adventures that gather you up and sweep you away. The blend of the wild and the artistic that makes Scotland what it is. We’d love for you to join us.
