Welcome

Finsbay on Woodlands Road calls itself a chophouse and pub, and sums itself up in three words: chops, music, liquor.

It is a dark, lively bar under a pressed-tin ceiling, with booths, screens for the football, a saltire in the window and a busy bar at the back.

The kitchen is built round steak. The signature is the flatiron, sliced and served on a board with fries, salad and a pot of béarnaise, and there are bigger sharing platters of steak and chops with sides, burgers in soft buns with potato wedges, and puddings such as sticky toffee with ice cream. The Bloody Marys come loaded with garnish, and the drinks list runs to cocktails, beers and spirits. It opens at four from Monday to Thursday and at noon from Friday to Sunday, and stays open until midnight every night.
