UNALOME by Graeme Cheevers
A restaurant with a Michelin star on Kelvingrove Street in Finnieston, where Graeme Cheevers cooks modern European food with a Japanese touch from Scottish produce.
Some meals feel like an occasion from the moment you climb the steps, and UNALOME by Graeme Cheevers is one of them.
It sits in an elegant period building on Kelvingrove Street in Finnieston, where the Glasgow-born chef opened his first restaurant of his own in 2021. It won a Michelin star in the 2022 guide, and it still holds one. The cooking is modern European, with a strong pull towards Japan and a grounding in French technique, built on Scottish produce that changes with the seasons. Choose from the tasting menu, a tasting of vegetables, the à la carte or the lunch menu, or book the Kitchen Table, an eight-course chef's menu for up to four guests with a view straight into the kitchen. The name comes from a Buddhist symbol for the winding path to enlightenment. It opens for lunch and dinner from Thursday to Sunday, so book well ahead, and dress smart casual.
