Welcome

Eleven Fifty Five is a bistro on Argyle Street in Finnieston, opened by the team behind The Gannet in the building where The Gannet used to be, and within months it had a place in the Michelin Guide.

Start at the bar with a martini or a Rob Roy, then settle in for oysters, served plain, with the house hot sauce or the Vietnamese way, and glazed milk bread with whipped butter. After that it's the kind of food you want on a cold Glasgow evening: beef tartare, Cairngorm red deer, wild sea bass, or a salt-aged ribeye with Madeira sauce or Café de Paris butter, with the day's specials chalked up on the board. There's a whisky list to explore, and a private dining room for a party. Dinner is served from Tuesday to Saturday, from five, with lunch from Wednesday to Saturday, and children are welcome. Book a table through its own website.
