East End Press
Paper garlands, baubles and cards in strong colours, from the shop of East End Press on Great Western Road by Kelvinbridge.
East End Press makes paper decorations in strong, cheerful colours, and its shop on a corner of Great Western Road, by the Kelvinbridge subway, is the only place to see the whole range in one room.
The walls are painted a deep olive and lined with shelves of boxes and packets, and a painted cart with a scalloped canopy stands in the middle of the floor, piled with the latest designs.
Everything is made of paper: screen-printed garlands sewn by hand, honeycomb baubles, folded stars and wreaths, along with greetings cards, sketchbooks and wrapping paper. The paper is recycled and there is no plastic anywhere. The decorations keep well and can be hung up year after year, and the colours and patterns look as good in July as they do at Christmas. Recent collections include a ballet garland and a range made with Tate, inspired by the work of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant. The shop is small and every shelf is full, so give yourself time to look. It is open every day from eleven in the morning until six.

East End Press's shop is open every day from 11am to 6pm.
