Alford Valley Railway
Introduction
Beginning construction in 1856, the Alford Valley Railway’s continued running is a testament to Aberdeenshire’s love of tradition. Although little of the station and locomotive are original, the passenger platform has survived throughout the decades and now serves the restored railway as a relic of the past. Originally connecting to The Great North of Scotland Railway, visitors can now hop on a service every 40 minutes from the Alford Valley to Haughton Park and experience the earlier days of high-speed travel.
