Courie Courie Bakery

A sourdough bakery and café on Station Square in Aboyne, baking with responsibly sourced local ingredients, open Wednesday to Saturday mornings.

Welcome

On Station Square in Aboyne, by the old railway station at the heart of the village, Courie Courie is a small bakery and café with a big following.

Its name comes from the Scots word courie, to snuggle in, and it is that kind of place: somewhere to settle with a coffee and something warm from the oven.

The bread is sourdough, and the shelves fill with crusty loaves, alongside pastries, cakes and the café's wholefood cooking. Everything is made from real ingredients, local where possible, and dogs are welcome.

It opens from Wednesday to Saturday, from half past nine until two, and bread and cakes can be ordered the day before and collected from the shop. Aboyne's village green, the Dee and the Deeside Way are all a few minutes' walk away, and the forests of Glen Tanar lie just across the river.
