The Old Smiddy

Antiques, vintage and upcycled finds in the old blacksmith's shop at Kincardine O'Neil.

Welcome

Kincardine O'Neil is said to be the oldest village on Deeside, and its old blacksmith's workshop, the smiddy, stands on the main road opposite the village hall.

The forge has long gone cold, and the building is now a shop of antiques and collectables, run by two local businesses together: Woodside Antiques and Collectables, and Lyncraft Upcycled.

Between them they fill the place with a wide range of antique, vintage, retro and collectable pieces, alongside furniture and objects that have been upcycled and reimagined into something new. The stock changes all the time, and there is no telling what will be on the shelves from one visit to the next, which is most of the fun of it.

The Old Smiddy is right on the A93, so it is an easy stop on the drive up the valley, and it is close to the Deeside Way, the path and cycleway along the old railway line, which makes it a good halt for walkers and cyclists too. Dess waterfall is a short drive to the west.
