At the end of Banchory's High Street, a few steps from the River Dee, Tease has been the town's neighbourhood coffee bar since 2009: a black shopfront with benches and plants outside, and a bright, modern room within.

The owners both spent days at coffee school learning to pull the perfect espresso, and they take it seriously. All the coffee is triple certified, Fairtrade, organic and Rainforest Alliance, and there is a range of speciality loose-leaf teas given the same care.

To go with them there are home-baked cakes, and for lunch sandwiches, paninis and soup, with gluten-free choices. It opens every day, and it makes a comfortable place to sit before a walk by the river or up Scolty Hill.
