On Thursday the 28th of August at 7.30 pm, Blair Castle’s ballroom hosts the Scottish Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Jakob Lehmann. The programme opens with Rossini’s overture to The Barber of Seville, followed by Spohr’s Clarinet Concerto No. 2, performed by principal clarinettist Maximiliano Martín. It closes with Schubert’s Symphony No. 2. Part of the orchestra’s summer tour, the concert balances lightness and complexity in a familiar but well-paced set. Tickets are tiered, with free entry for children, and refreshments are available during the interval. The evening takes place in the grand, wood-panelled setting of the castle’s historic ballroom.
