The House of Bruar

A large country store on the A9 by Blair Atholl, with Scottish clothing and knitwear, a food hall and butchery, and a restaurant, at the foot of the Falls of Bruar.

Where the A9 climbs north past Blair Atholl, a long range of buildings with glass roofs and dark iron frames sits at the foot of the Falls of Bruar.

The House of Bruar is a country store on a grand scale.

Inside, room after room is given over to Scottish country clothing: tweed jackets, coats and knitwear, with gifts for the house and garden. The food hall has its own butchery, with fresh cuts, steak pies, roast beef and cooked hams.

The self-service restaurant, under a great glass roof, serves lunches and home baking, with tables outside in the sun. Behind the store, a path leads up to the Falls of Bruar.
