Pitlochry Putting Green

An eighteen-hole putting green in the middle of Pitlochry on the way to the dam, the holes graded in order of difficulty, open every day from April to October.

In the middle of Pitlochry, on Rie-Achan Road where it heads down towards the dam, an eighteen-hole putting green spreads across a sloping lawn below the trees.

A little black wooden hut with a white stag on its gable hands out the putters and balls, and picnic tables stand on the gravel beside it.

The holes are graded in order of difficulty, so the round grows harder as it goes. Most are two for par, but a few are longer, or tucked beside the natural slopes and bumps of the ground, and take real care to hole. It is an easy hour for families, and a gentle competition for everyone else.

The green opens every day from April to October, with the times and prices posted at the hut, and the dam, the fish ladder and Loch Faskally are a few minutes' walk further on.
