Aberfeldy Watermill Bookshop & Cafe

Add to List

Introduction

In the centre of Aberfeldy, this former oatmeal mill has been turned into a welcoming bookshop and café with a strong local following. The ground floor café serves coffee, loose-leaf tea, home baking, and simple lunches, with old mill workings still visible on the walls and ceiling. It’s an easy place to settle in for a while, especially on quieter weekdays. In good weather, a few tables are set up outside.

Upstairs, the bookshop is spread over two floors and includes a carefully chosen range of Scottish history, travel writing, memoir, fiction, and nature titles. There’s a good children’s section too, with picture books and early readers that make it easy to find something for younger visitors. The selection never feels overstocked or random, and the staff know the shelves well.

Next door, the Zanna Wilson Gallery shows work inspired by Highland landscapes. It’s small, unfussy, and easy to take in before heading back into town.
