Isle of Skye
Lochview
Introduction
Lochview sits above Loch Dunvegan on Skye’s north-west coast, with far-reaching views across the water towards the Outer Hebrides. Designed for four guests, the retreat has two super-king bedrooms, both with en suite shower rooms, and an open-plan living, dining and kitchen space centred around a double-sided wood-burning stove. The interiors use soft, earthy tones, oak, boucle textures and wide glazing to keep the focus on the loch outside. A cinema-style screen, Meridian Audio sound system, Nespresso machine, Quooker hot tap and Hotel Chocolat Velvetiser add useful comforts indoors. Outside, the landscaped garden has levelled spaces for dining, a Danish barbecue, gas firepit, Scandinavian wood-fired hot tub and sauna. The Three Chimneys is just 200 metres below, while Dunvegan Castle is around 20 minutes away by car.
Introduction
Lochview is a place to settle in and take your time. Tucked above Loch Dunvegan with wide views towards the Outer Hebrides, it feels both remote and well placed. The road in is quiet, the light shifts often, and the sound of water carries up from the loch below. Inside, everything is designed to be easy. There are two large bedrooms, both with ensuite shower rooms. The living space is open and warm, centred around a glass-fronted wood burner with views in both directions. You’ll find a proper kitchen with good equipment, a cinema-style screen for slower nights, and doors that open straight out to the decking.
Outside, the garden has been shaped into levels. There’s a firepit and seating on one, a dining area with a barbeque on another, and a hot tub and sauna tucked into a sheltered spot under the trees. It’s the kind of setup that suits all weathers. When it’s calm, you can eat outside and watch the water. When it turns, you’ve still got everything you need to enjoy the space.
From the door, it’s a short walk down to The Three Chimneys, one of Scotland’s most iconic restaurants. Dunvegan Castle is about 20 minutes away, and the Fairy Pools, Neist Point and the Trotternish Ridge are all within reach by car. But you may not want to move far. Lochview is quiet, comfortable and made for days that don’t need to be rushed.

Why Book
Lochview offers the kind of comfort that makes a trip feel easy from the start. With two ensuite bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, and a living space designed around the view, it’s a solid choice for couples or small groups. The garden is tiered with space to sit, cook, soak or just take in the quiet. A wood-fired hot tub and sauna add something extra, especially after a day out walking. The location gives you access to Skye’s west coast landmarks without the crowds, and with The Three Chimneys just down the hill, you’re close to one of Scotland’s best meals.

Set the Scene
Lochview sits on a quiet stretch above Loch Dunvegan, with open views across the water and out towards the Outer Hebrides. The house is surrounded by trees and shaped gardens, giving it a sense of privacy without feeling shut in. Inside, the layout is simple and welcoming. The main living space opens out to the views, with a wood burner at the centre and a kitchen made for proper use. Bedrooms are calm, warm and well finished, each with its own shower room. Outside, the levels step down gently towards the firepit, sauna and hot tub, all positioned to make the most of the view.
