Cafe Lephin is a small, family-run café in a black timber building with a white gable in Glendale, on the right as you follow the road out to Neist Point lighthouse, which makes it the natural stop on the way there or back.

Inside it is warm and snug, with a wood-burning stove, a leather sofa and orange pendant lamps, and there are picnic tables outside at the front.

The menu is short: soups, paninis and toasted bagels, with a counter of home baking, where the cheese scones are tall and light. There is good coffee, and a small gift shop corner. It opens on weekdays from 10.30am, until 3.30pm on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and until 4.30pm on Tuesday and Friday, and is closed at weekends. In a busy season the baking goes early, so it is worth coming in good time.
