Isle of Skye
Milovaig House
Overview
Milovaig House sits on the far western edge of Skye's Duirinish peninsula, a renovated crofter's cottage with sea views from every window. Inside, the Nordic-leaning interiors are restrained and well-chosen. A double-sided log burner between the dining room and sun room. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors looking out over Loch Pooltiel. Two bedrooms upstairs, sleeping four, with a roll-top bath on the landing.
Then there's the garden. A Swedish wood-burning hot tub sits on the deck alongside a fire pit, with the lawn giving way to open croft beyond. Expect sheep wandering through most mornings. The Three Chimneys is a 15-minute drive. Neist Point lighthouse is closer. Fresh fish from Meanish Pier is a five-minute walk.
It's remote, with the nearest supermarket 31 miles away, but that's the point. Stock up before you arrive, settle in for a few days and keep an eye on the water for whales passing through. If you're there in winter, the Northern Lights might put in an appearance.
