Inside Lochview.

Lochview looks across Loch Dunvegan on Skye towards the Outer Hebrides, a modern house for four with the view in every room. The open-plan living space centres on a double-sided glass-fronted wood stove, with a cinema-style screen, a granite-topped kitchen island and big glass doors onto the garden. There are two bedrooms, one in soft pink and one in powder blue, each with a super-king bed and a shower room of its own: one is lined in scalloped gold tiles, the other in metallic mermaid-style tiles.

Milovaig House is a renovated 19th-century crofter's house on the cliffs of Skye, with minimalist Nordic interiors that suit the old building. It sleeps four, the farmer brings his sheep past most days, and a welcome hamper of milk, butter, eggs, jam and fresh sourdough is waiting when you arrive.
