Inside Milovaig House.

Milovaig House is a 19th-century crofter's house on the cliffs of north-west Skye, restored with calm Nordic interiors and the sea in every window. Skye's tallest sea cliffs rise to one side, with the Outer Hebrides on the horizon. Downstairs, a sun room with floor-to-ceiling glass and a log burner opens onto the view, beside a dining room with a double-sided stove and a snug. Upstairs there's a king room and a twin, sharing a roll-top bath.

Dunvegan Castle has been the seat of the MacLeod chiefs for eight centuries, and the road west runs out at Neist Point, looking over the Minch to the Outer Hebrides.
