For two, with one bedroom. Two nights at least. From £185 a night. Arrive from 4pm, leave by 10.30am.

Macbeth's Bothy stands at the top of Collace village, at the foot of Dunsinane Hill, the hill in Shakespeare's Macbeth, on the Dunsinnan estate twenty minutes north of Perth.
It was a shepherd's bothy, and in 2025 it was renovated for two, with interiors by the Edinburgh designers Studio Fantoush.
Through the porch is a small, fully equipped kitchen, then one room for living and sleeping, with a king-size bed, and an en suite shower room. The floors are warmed by a ground-source heat pump. French doors open onto a deck with a Big Green Egg and a table, and onto a timber bath house, where a William Holland copper bath stands open to the garden. Through a field gate on the far side of the hedge is a fire pit with deck chairs.
Good to know: it sleeps two adults, and an infant in a travel cot; pets are not allowed; there is no television, but there are games and a Roberts radio; there is an EV charger; the path up Dunsinane Hill starts at the end of the village. Stays of five nights or more are 15% off.
