Welcome

In the village of Glamis, a whitewashed cottage with a slate roof and a sign by the door is the Gin Bothy's tasting room.

A bothy, in Scotland, is a simple shelter or a farm workers' hut, and the idea here is the warmth and plainness of bothy life, with a glass of gin to go with it.

Inside the rustic tasting room, guests sit down to four of the Bothy's gins, the Original, Raspberry, Rhubarb and Gunshot, each poured with ice, mixers and garnishes so that everyone can make their own perfect serve, while a short film tells the story of the gin and the bothies. Drivers get soft drinks and a miniature to take home.

Tastings last about an hour and run from March to November, Thursday to Sunday, and they pair well with a morning at the castle down the road.
