Turriff Show

The show has been going at Turriff since 1864, when it was held on a Tuesday to fit round the town's mart day. It runs over two days now, the Sunday and Monday before the first Tuesday in August, which makes it the largest two day agricultural show in the country. There are 1,554 competition classes, more than 330 trophies and 85,000 pounds in prize money. Cattle, sheep, horses, working dogs, pigeons, vintage vehicles. Over 300 trade stands as well, plus a food and drink marquee stocked with north east producers. Gates open at 7am both days and shut at 6pm. Worth an early start.
