Tolquhon Castle
Introduction
There are some who say that Tolquhon Castle, open from April to September, is one of the finest, noble residences. Not surprising when you see the ornate carvings and detailing of the castle, once home to Sir William Forbes and his wife.
Gatehouses, for example, were usually built to deter and yet, the one here is more impressive than imposing. Enjoy the lavish above stairs and experience the ‘below stairs’ and if you're lucky, maybe you’ll find the secret hiding place where Sir William stashed family valuables.
