Trump International Golf Links Scotland
Links golf through the dunes since 2012, par 72 over 7,428 yards. A second course opened in 2025.
The dunes at Menie, on the coast just north of Aberdeen, rise as high as 100 feet, and the Old Course at Trump International is laid right through them.
Martin Hawtree designed it, and it opened in 2012, a par 72 of 7,428 yards from the back tees, with marram-covered dunes on every side and the North Sea alongside. At the 3rd the green sits a few feet from the shore, and you’ll hear the waves before you see them. A second course, the New Course, opened in July 2025. Afterwards, The Dunes Restaurant & Bar in the clubhouse looks out over the links.

Top 100 Golf Courses says the dunes here reach 100 feet, and some fairways sit 40 feet below the peaks around them. The club calls them the Great Dunes of Scotland.
18 holes. Par 72 and 7,428 yards from the black tees, down to 5,215 from the red.

The Old Course runs through the dunes beside the North Sea, with heather, burns and winter lochs on its inland side.
3The 3rd
You walk to the green down a sunken grass path and hear the waves before the sea comes into view. It’s the closest the course comes to the shore, just a few feet from the green, and the club calls it a favourite spot.
4The 4th
The hardest hole on the card, a par five to a high green set in a gap in the dunes. Blairton Burn runs the full length of the hole, and the green is the most contoured on the links and the designer’s own favourite.
9The 9th
A deceptively narrow drive and a long, narrow green with three bunkers, only one or two of them visible from the fairway. Behind the green is an old ice house where local fishermen once kept their catch fresh.
10The 10th
From tees among the heather, the hole climbs past a winter loch and through a narrow pass between towering dunes. The green sits in a natural amphitheatre, one of the first spots picked out when the course was planned.
18The 18th
The longest hole on the course, played from high tees with the coast and the skyline of Aberdeen in view. Two large winter lakes lie to the left of the fairway.
Martin Hawtree’s links of 2012 through the great dunes at Menie, north of Aberdeen, with a second course opened in 2025.
