The Coffee Apothecary Ellon

The Ellon café of a speciality coffee roaster from Udny, on the Square, pouring its own house-roasted coffee with seasonal food and home baking.

Welcome

On the Square in Ellon, the Coffee Apothecary is the town café of a speciality coffee roaster that began in the village of Udny in 2014.

The room is simple and warm, with a long timber counter under pendant lamps, and behind it a barista who will happily talk coffee all day.

The beans are speciality grade, and the team roasts them in house with great precision, using biomass and solar power, so the coffee in the cup has come a very short way. The food matches it: hearty seasonal dishes from local produce, everything made in house, with home-baked cakes and treats.

Beans are for sale to take home, and the roastery runs master classes for anyone who wants to brew better. It opens every day. Haddo House, Pitmedden Garden and Tolquhon Castle are all within a short drive.
