Atmospheric tower with flamboyant rooms. Flickering candles, antiques, art, books, ecclesiastical features and quirky pieces abound. Abbot’s Tower is a restored 16th Century Tower House designed in Scottish Renaissance style. Built in c. 1580 at the time of the Scottish Reformation and was once occupied by the last Abbot of the famous Sweetheart Abbey. The ruins of the Abbey are open to the public and are a short walk from the Tower in the pretty conservation village of New Abbey with its pub, shop, corn mill and tea room. The Abbot’s Tower has two original and glamorous suites, both with their own unique charm, luxury and good deal of quirk. Each suite occupies just two guests and are not suitable for children.
