Loch Arthur is a Camphill community, which means it is a place where people with and without learning disabilities live and work together, and it has been at Beeswing since 1984 on five hundred and fifty acres with a loch and a wood in them.

The cheese started the year after, from the milk of two Jersey and two Ayrshire cows, and it is now one of the most respected creameries in Scotland - all of it made on the farm from their own biodynamic herd and other local organic milk. The shop sells it alongside their own bread, meat and vegetables, and there is a cafe. The cheese would be worth the drive on its own, and it is made by a community that exists for another reason entirely.
