Just off the High Street in the middle of Dumfries, on Queensberry Street, Kings is a coffee shop and bookshop in one.

It is slightly tucked away, but signs on the High Street point the way.

The cafe serves coffee, breakfasts, lunches and cakes, from toasted sandwiches to something sweet with a cup of tea, and the shelves of books are there to browse while you wait or after you have eaten. In the lane outside, colourful umbrellas have been strung overhead.

Kings opens from Monday to Saturday, from half past nine until five. The Burns statue and the Globe Inn are a short walk away.
