In the quiet village of Carsethorn, right on the shore of the Solway Firth, the Steamboat Inn is a white-painted inn looking out over the water.

It serves fresh seafood and comfort food every day, at lunchtime and in the evening, with Sunday lunches and a seafood platter for two among the favourites. Visitors praise the welcome, the service and the food. Dogs are welcome in the cosy bar and in the beer garden, which looks out to sea.

Through the year the inn holds events, from a beach bonfire to fortnightly curry and quiz nights, bingo and jam nights, and there is a private room for parties. It makes a fine stop on a drive along the Solway coast.
