Small Isles, Isle of Eigg
Eigg Adventures
Overview
Eigg Adventures runs from spring through autumn, stocking quality mountain bikes, hybrids, e-bikes, helmets, tag-alongs, and child trailers. All cycling equipment is regularly serviced and tailored to rider height and ability. Kayak hire includes sit-on-top single and tandem boats, paddles, buoyancy aids, and coastal guidance notes.
Behind the service is Owain Wyn-Jones, whose deep roots in the island’s community buyout and natural environment come through in every briefing. Riders are shown local landmarks—such as Laig Bay, An Sgùrr, and Singing Sands—and advised on varying terrain and wildlife hotspots. E-bikes help bridge longer distances, while traditional bikes invite closer-paced exploration. Kayak routes focus on sheltered inlets, seal sightings, and the chance to see seabirds on cliffs.
Pricing is transparent: daily rates with multi-day and family package options. Casual bikes start at an accessible rate, with e-bikes in a higher bracket. Booking ahead is recommended in summer. No deposit is needed—just a moment at the pier to get fitted, briefed, and away you go, leaving vehicles behind.

Location
Eigg Adventures is based at Galmisdale pier, close to the ferry access point. A small wooden shed by the landing houses bikes and kayaks. Hire begins as soon as the ferry docks and finishes shortly before departure—on-foot convenience with minimal fuss.
What's nearby
Wrapped around the pier are the community café, shop, post office, and hostel. Trails head inland toward An Sgùrr and north along the coast to Laig Bay, Singing Sands, and shattered crofts. Every route returns within walking distance of the pier, making gear drop-off simple and practical.
